Summer Pics

Well, first of all, if the blog scrolls slowly, sorry! They changed the template design thing and I, being so untechnical, can't figure out how to get the box out of the middle of the page but still keep my design. Oh well. I know it scrolls slowly for me.

Well, I had a really good picture/video moment with the two little ones the other evening. However, I was too worried about what was going on, to think about catching the moment until it was too late. We were all in the living room except for Rachel and John. All of a sudden, all I hear is crying (like the hurt kind) and it was both of them. I go back to the playroom and they are both sitting on the floor facing each other within arms reach and just crying hysterically. Both of their mouths are open, tears running down their faces. I take turns hugging them while trying to get Rachel to tell me what is wrong. It seems, that John hit her with or threw a soft chunky car at her and hit her in the chest and he got his fingers shut in the play kitchen refrigerator door. Not sure what order this happened in or if that is the exact story, but within a few minutes and some hugs and holding, they were both better and ready to play some more. There was no blood or bruises so that is always a good thing!

Well here are a couple of pics from the summer to try and get me up to August! Ha!

Uncle Owen seeing what it will be like to have 12 kids. Watch out Dugger family!
Max having a visit with Great Grandma at the family gathering. I just thought this picture was really cute.

Not sure if she had stuck her finger in the cake or was just being shy.

April Happenings

Well, the rest of April was pretty busy also. Sarah celebrated turning 12, there were school plays, Derek got braces, and just a little of this and that.

As far as funny stories, John has within this past week started pulling himself up to a standing position mainly at the toy box. However, once he gets there, he isn't sure what to do so he starts crying. Then he usually falls if someone doesn't pick him up immediately.

Rachel has once again become fascinated with my make up (see picture below). Her and John still get along pretty well but he is still pretty mellow. She tries to decide for him which toys he will play with especially if she is interested in something he has. She also imitates him alot if we are paying too much attention to him. So if he is laying on the ground kicking and we say oh John you are so cute, then she does it. I am sure once he starts walking and getting a little bit bigger, it will be very interesting what happens between the 2 of them!

I am sure I have funnies to tell, but just can't think of them, so here are some pictures!

Derek on class field trip helping plant trees at Air National Guard.
Sarah with the pitiful cake I made her. I definitely did not get Aunt Terry's cake making skills.
It may not have looked good but it tasted good!

Derek and his new grill!

John crying after pulling himself to standing position.

So we were eating dinner, and Rachel was done and down playing. Then after a few minutes, I happen to look at her and see something all over her lips so I ask her what is on her face. She says ever so calmly, "lipstick". So then I am like where did you get lipstick. I had left it on John's highchair tray while eating and she had somehow picked it up, put it on and put it back there without any of us even noticing. I guess I need to put this picture with the one a month or so ago after she put Grandma's mascara on. (see prior blogs).

Rachel feeding John his cereal. It actually went much smoother than I thought it would.

I was afraid she would choke him but I think she only rammed the spoon too far once.

Going for walk while Rachel wears birthday hat from a party at daycare.

John swinging in the old swing. At first he didnt' know what to think but now he seems to like it.

Sarah in the school play! Both kids were in speech and drama this semester so got to perform in the play.

Easter 2010

Well, I know yesterday in the posting, I said I was going to put April on but this is just Easter. There are just soooooo many pictures to choose from. So anyway, I will add other April stuff in a day or so probably and this time I am really going to try and keep up. Ha!

First though, a funny from Rachel. Jim is planting a garden this year. So he has been very busy working outside and making little garden plots. Well since our soil is mostly clay, he has been having to dig and dig and break up roots and such to try and get the soil ready. Yesterday while he was doing this, Rachel was outside and she says "Daddy, I like your mud." So anyway, tonight he will be working with his "mud" !!

John thinking "would you just pick me up already and stop taking pictures of me in this outfit"

Emily and Rachel getting ready to look for eggs.

Rachel enjoying her chocolate.
So I was a bad parent and didn't get John to the mall to get his First Easter Bunny pics. So this Easter Bunny was hanging out in front of the restaurant on South Avenue for pictures.

Rachel's one and only picture with Easter Bunny. She would not look at the camera because she was stressing and getting upset because the bunny had his paw around my shoulder and it was touching her arm.

March 2010

Okay, so I never posted last month, so here are several pictures to highlight some of the things we did. They are kind of in random order but oh well!

March consisted of going to the circus, spring break in Branson and John's ear surgery among other things. Rachel did not care for the clowns at the circus but did enjoy seeing the Elephants and riding the pony at intermission.
Sarah and Derek with their wax hands.
Rachel picking me a "flower" in our backyard.

John finally discovered the kitchen cabinets where the tupperware is.

John not waking up well after his ear surgery.

John enjoying the bed before his ear surgery.

John on one of the 2 rides he could ride at Silver dollar City.

Rachel and I on one of the few rides she could ride. She is about 1" too short to ride most of the rides. I am thinking when we go back, platform tennis shoes are the answer.

Sarah searching for precious stones at the cave!

Derek moving from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.

Rachel riding the pony at the circus.

Swimming at the condo pool in Branson.

John's first swim! He loved it!

Derek and Sarah at Veteran's Museum Branson.

Finally, all 4 of them on the statue at the steakhouse!
